Caut is the best choice most of the times and those who buy Defthands as Dredge desreve to be nailed to a cross and burnt alive. He may be the most hated champion in the entire game. He is in this weird place where he's underperforming but people think he is op for some reason. Current Heave Away is a noobtrap, but it will be pretty good next patch. Use your harpoon to slowdown enemies so you can hit them more easily or, if you're using Abyss Spike (which you should), use it like a Junkrat trap, but instead of CC, it deals damage.Ī few of his best loadout cards are: Crow's Nest (needs to be at lvl5 min), Expansive Vaut (about lvl1/2 is enough), Dreadnought and Hangman's Ire. With that card you can be a damage dealer and flanker at the same time. Once you get good at using his portal and aiming his weapon you could also incorporate Crow's Nest into your loadout. It's a challenging, but rewarding playstyle and very fun too. I personally love playing Dredge with Abyss Spike. Scuttle also makes Dredge one of the most hated champions because of it's spamminess and ease of use. And Scuttle sucks so Dredge is seen by most players (the kind of players that concern themselves with the meta atleast) as meh. Almost everyone thinks Scuttle is Dredge's best talent because no one bothers to actually learn how to use his base weapon. On long range maps like Timber Mill and Fish Market you'll generally want to use Hurl, but Abyss Spike can work well too, depending on the enemy composition.ĭredge's real place in the meta is unclear. But generally Caut, Wrecker and Nimble are the items that you want (and Deft Hands 1 if you're going Scuttle).ĭredge is good on cqc maps like Brightmarsh and Jaguar Falls. Which items you should buy for Dredge really depends on the playstyle you're using. The dps is relatively low though, so outside of those situations you'll want to use your primary fire. Hurl can make up for this weakness and give Dredge a more reliable way of dealing damage in those situations. The projectiles of Dredge's weapon are very slow, and thus can be unreliable at longer ranges and against fast or flying enemies. It has quite a learning curve, especially if you're new to Dredge, you need to have good game sense, timing, positioning and unlike the 2 other talents it forces you to be accurate with your base weapon. Excellent for zoning flank routes and objectives, dealing huge damage in choke points (big AOE without damage falloff) and unlike Scuttle, this can increase your total dps if you combo it with your primary fire. If you learn to aim Dredge's weapon you'll have absolutely no use for this talent.Ībyss Spike is Dredge's best talent. It doesn't really offer you anything new, it basically just gives you a much easier version of your primary fire. It's dps is about the same as Dredge's primary fire and that's after all the loadout points and credits you've spent to gain max reload speed.
